Director, Supply Chain & Analytics
Position Summary: This is a leadership position within the Supply Chain, Analytics group in the organization. We are looking for a leader on the team – capable of developing and growing the analytics team supported by its service offerings. The candidate requires a clear understanding of and hands-on experience in supply chain, operations, and financial levers in business and should be comfortable building sophisticated models for cost-benefit assessments and value propositions. A hands-on knowledge of fulfillment processes, logistics solutions, shipping modes, and associated cost drivers is a plus. Experience in capital program/project management, vendor management, and client management is a plus.
Reports to: Sr. Vice-President, Supply Chain & Analytics
Key Responsibilities: Following are some of the key areas of responsibilities:
Supply Chain, Operations & Logistics Data Analysis
- Articulates requirements, validates and collects data for analysis
- Prepares data for analysis with the use of tools and scripts
- Conducts analysis using instructions, techniques and algorithms provided or researched
- Collates and prepares key insights and findings
Recommendation-based Value Proposition Creation
- Associates metrics with insights
- Creates value propositions and/or ROI
- Develops cash-flow impact and other cost-benefit assessments (NPV analysis)
Supply Chain Modeling & Scenario Planning (Decision Modeling) – build models for:
- Supply Chain: Size, cost, location and network modeling
- Warehouse Operations: Labor cost modeling, OpEx models for automation and improvements
- Logistics: Cost modeling on first-middle-last mile models, alternatives, multi-modal etc.
Development of Strategic Recommendations for Client Executives
- Ability to articulate strategic recommendations, direction and value propositions
- Creating proposals and deliverables for client engagements, including PowerPoint decks
- Comfortable presenting and justifying solutions to client teams and executives at all levels
Coaching, Performance Management and People Development
- Demonstrated people management skills
- Ability to set targets and goals for the team
- Develop plans for individuals on the team based on capabilities and skillsets
- Mentor and coach team members to excel and grow
Engagement Management
- Demonstrated leadership on consulting or team engagements
- Ability to develop and nurture relationships with senior client executives
- Develop and coach a team to deliver and exceed client expectations and satisfaction
Sales, Business Development and Contract Development
- Experience developing and assisting in sales efforts for SC&A services
- Demonstrated ability to maintain and drive revenue opportunities on engagements
- Contract and SOW development experience including working with legal on redlines
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required – Science, Engineering or Finance majors
- MBA or MS in Business Analytics preferred
- 8+ years relevant experience in Supply Chain, Operations or Analytics
- 2+ years in a leadership role
- Past business/management consulting experience is a plus
- Excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills
- Experience with simulation tools (Llamasoft, AnyLogic, AnyLogistix, Sumul8 etc.) is a plus
- Recent graduates from Tier 1 or 2 MBA schools preferred.
- Travel may be up to 70/80% or as required
