The workflows were tailored to the specific requirements of their each client, including the ability to generate custom barcode labels, obtain carrier shipping labels directly without holding inventory, and fulfill orders where our customer has ownership of their client’s inventory. Additionally, the workflows provided three ways of order entry to streamline the process for our customer and their clients.
Cross Dock to Move from Manual to Automated Logistics Processes:
Advatix Cloudsuite™ introduced capabilities such as Cross Dock to strengthen our customer’s transportation network with an ability in the system to create custom regional and national small parcel (NSP) boards. This enabled the user to set up routing tables that assist in the sorting and shipping of packages, improving transportation efficiency and reducing costs.
Package Sorting to Improve Accuracy:
The platform enabled the ability to sort packages by carrier, product group, and their manifest location. This allowed for accurate tracking of packages and helped reduce mis-shipments. Along with a visual dashboard that allowed operators to see where shipment volume is distributed to, within the warehouse. This birds-eye view supported the ability to adjust labor to where the work was in a timely fashion, improving quality and reducing sort jams and backups.
Containerization for Easy Pallet Movement:
Advatix Cloudsuite™ introduced the process of containerization for easy pallet movement with a visual dock planning dashboard that visually represents the movement of containers or pallets from the sorting area to the shipping lanes. As pallets are scanned to the lane, a centralized logistics planner is able to see the percentage of trailers or trucks that are ready to be loaded. This helped improve load capacity and decrease mis-shipped pallets while it improved utilization and reduced transportation spend.
Platform allowed customer to integrate with several regional and national carriers with included features such as ASR since the accounts are licensed to ship alcohol and with several line hauls and lower-level transportation companies on an as-needed basis. This allowed for seamless integration with various carriers and helped reduce shipping costs. Additionally, it improved visibility by connecting the transportation tracking timestamps to the order level.
Request for Quote:
Platform provided the ability to ‘Request for Quote’ for shipments to be delivered, with notifications for the request broadcasted to all the carriers within a network. This module enabled the centralization of 3PL transportation to be booked and managed in one dashboard. This then connects to the operations dashboards to enable the operators on the dock to have easy access to the transportation information without crossing between multiple systems. This helped improve transparency and allowed clients to compare pricing and select the best option for their needs.
